The Jeep® Forward Control Page
A few of Daniel Hornberger's Forward Controls.
 |
This site is dedicated to all who own and love Forward Control trucks built by Willys-Motors and Kaiser Jeep® from 1956 to 1965. This page was created with the intent of providing information of a technical and historical nature that is accurate and useful to the owners, maintainers and restorers of Forward Controls and other Jeeps. To that end, I welcome all comments, suggestions, criticisms and other inputs in the hope that this page will be meaningful and useful to all.
I apologise for being out of the loop for all of 2006. I have been busy with both my civilian and military occupations. My wife has decided on a mid-life career change and is now returned to graduate school for a second Masters degree. I am considering a career change and together we are thinking of relocating. I also just needed a break. I have found over the years that if you take on the task of hosting a website, eventually the website takes on a life of its own. I thought seriously of taking the site down.
Craig Brockhaus has an excellent site up now so why keep this going? Well, I've decided to tough it out a while longer. I must admit that I have enjoyed being part of the FC community and this site has been instrumental in bringing FC afficiendos together. I appologize to those who have sent info about their FCs. I am trying to play catch-up now. Please note also that me E-Mail address is updated. I can be contacted at dhartling@fastmail.fm.

I understand that the Forward Control Willys Jeep Association is ended. The Association had been "Dedicated to locating, preserving and operating all Willys Jeep Forward Control vehicles." I think it was getting to be too much for Jack Weisinger to continue to produce the newsletter. Good luck in your future endeavors. Jack!

Forward Forum
A Forward Control Bulletin Board
I am attempting to gather some of the discussions from the Forum and place them in the site. On the FC brake page is a discussion, taken from the Forum, on servicing the Forward Control master cylinder. Below is a link to a board started by Woody Del Mar. I want to encourage you to use it as a supplement to the Forward Forum.
Woody Del Mar has started a Forward Control news group at Yahoo. Click here to connect to it.
Herb Russell is starting a Forward Control FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) site designed to answer that burning question which you may have but didn't realize that a dozen other people have already asked. The site is in its Beta stage and you can see it by linking to the FC FAQ SITE.

Forward Control Registry
The following people have added their Forward Controls or had their information updated in the registry during the first three quarters of 2006 (January to September). If your information has changed, please e-mail me and let me know. Thanks. (By the way. I know that sometimes there is a lag time between the time you email your info to me and I get it posted. I appologize for this but it can't be helped with the schedule I am currently keeping. I do read all the mail I get and update the site as soon as is possible.)
